The place:

Kangra valley is one of Himachal’s most pristine valleys that is home to India’s First UNESCO World Heritage Village. The snow-capped Dhauladhar mountains, numerous glacial rivulets, pine forests and mesmerising open green /golden fields along with the fresh mountain air, all bring a sense of peace and calm. Out here you can actually be away from all the daily chaos and truly be in sync with nature. 

Join us for your writing escape. This will be an experience of combining the writing time, the spirit of nature, the craft of the locals, authentic food blended with the culture of the land. 

Interact with writers on their journey and published authors over informal evening drinks or morning walks and brainstorm about your work-in-progress or your finished manuscript.

Retreat Curator, Author & Brand Expert

The curator of this retreat is Deeba Salim Irfan, an author of a women's fiction novel, 'Urma' which has been translated into Urdu and nominated for an award. Her collection of poetry in the format of a coffee-table book, 'Charcoal Blush' won Book Excellence Award in Canada.

Her next books at the edit stage are - ‘355 Days’and'Will Time Find Us’.

She is an MBA with over two decades of corporate experience in building brands from advertising and events side. She has been at the helm of many top brands and strategized the launch and building of many household brands.

After a long and successful stint, she decided to follow her passion for writing and guiding authors in building their brands.

How Is This Retreat Unique

Kangra retreat is a retreat tailored to nourish and heal inside - out and let you experience your creativity and unlock its potential.

Time To Write

Some of us just need some time alone to write. On this retreat, you will get minimum 6 hours to write without interruption every day.

Program Outline

Day 1

You arrive by evening. Mingle with other authors and poets over drinks and dinner and rest.

Day 2 & 3

Morning (Day 2 & 3): Yoga in the morning. Breakfast by 9.30 a.m., minimum six hours in your room to write. The option of ordering lunch from your room or join the others in the restaurant. If you have a writer’s block you can join on a guided village walk/river walk/forest walk/trek up the hilltop

Dinner: Interact with other members

Optional – you can register for a workshop with Deeba on building your author platform.

After breakfast time to leave for home
